Jason Koon, a stalwart in the Triton Poker arena, has once again proven his supremacy. The accomplished 37-year-old poker virtuoso from America has expanded his record of Triton Poker wins by clinching the 2023 Triton Poker Super High Roller Series London’s $60,000 no-limit hold’em seven-max event. This victory, adding a whopping $1,570,000 to his accolades, signifies Koon’s eighth triumph in the Triton series.
Hailing as the record-holder for the highest number of Triton Poker titles, Koon’s win record is twice that of his closest rival, Mikita Badziakouski, who boasts four tour wins. Koon’s cumulative earnings from the Triton events now cross a stunning $23.7 million. His 35 cash finishes put him at the top for the most cash-ins on the tour.
“When I play, I play for the love of the game. Though I play less now, I ensure I’m at my best whenever I do,” Koon expressed in an interview with Triton’s Ali Nejad following his recent win. This streamed broadcast further underscored his commitment and passion for the game.
This victory has boosted Koon’s total career earnings to a staggering sum of over $49 million, solidifying his fifth position in poker’s all-time money list. It also added 1,020 Card Player Player of the Year points to his tally. With this win being his fourth title and his tenth final table finish of the year, Koon has amassed 4,930 total points and over $6.9 million in POY earnings to date, making him the tenth-ranked player in the 2023 POY standings presented by Global Poker.

The event attracted 104 contenders, creating a significant prize pool of $6,240,000 distributed among the top 17 finishers. Notable poker personalities such as Fedor Holz, Daniel Dvoress, Sam Greenwood, Leon Sturm, Jose ‘Nacho’ Barbero, and Alex Kulev managed to cash in, but couldn’t secure a spot at the final table.
At the start of the seven-handed final table, it was Koon who was leading the pack, with Matthias Eibinger, a two-time Triton winner, closely following. The rest of the contenders all started with fewer than 25 big blinds.
Many top players, including ten-time bracelet winner Phil Ivey and two-time bracelet winner Justin Saliba, got eliminated before the heads-up round. Saliba’s best hand couldn’t hold up against Koon’s in a four-flush board, marking Saliba’s exit in third place with a prize of $690,000.
The final showdown started with Koon holding 13,150,000 chips to Rodrigo Selouan’s 7,650,000. After several rounds, Koon emerged victorious by revealing top two pairs against Selouan’s third pair. Selouan had to settle for a runner-up position with a prize of $1,060,300, marking his first seven-figure tournament score.
Overall, Jason Koon’s thrilling performance at the 2023 Triton Poker Super High Roller Series London reaffirms his stature as a dominant force in the high-stakes poker world.
