Unibet Open Bucharest €1,100 Buy-in

Bucharest, 30 November – 4 December 2023

The highly-anticipated Romania Unibet Open, in collaboration with PokerFest Romania, is returning to the Romanian capital, and this year, it promises to be bigger than ever before.

Set against the backdrop of the opulent JW Marriott Bucharest Grand Hotel, the five-day festival, which runs from November 29 to December 3, aims to etch its name in poker history by hosting the largest Unibet Open ever held in Bucharest.

The Main Event & Tournament Galore

At the heart of the action will be the Unibet Open Bucharest Main Event. With a Hold’em, Re-entry structure and a buy-in of €1,100, the flagship event is expected to draw poker aficionados from across the globe. The partnership with PokerFest Romania amplifies the magnitude of the event, with forecasts predicting a record turnout. The current record stands at 603 entries, but with Unibet’s aggressive online satellite promotions, that number is anticipated to be eclipsed.

A Look Back at Unibet Open Bucharest’s Legacy

The legacy of the Unibet Open Bucharest is rich with memories of thrilling games and triumphant champions. The last main event, held in 2018, saw Anton Vinokurov emerge victorious, pocketing a record €103,060 from a prize pool that totaled €592,000. He bested a formidable field of 592 entries, showcasing an unwavering confidence that he attributed to his success.

The inaugural Unibet Open Bucharest in 2016 crowned local legend Traian Bostan, who overcame a massive field of 603 competitors to claim a €100,000 top prize. Following his footsteps in 2017 was Romanian player Marius Pertea, capturing the main event title and a sweet €90,925 prize.

Beyond the Poker Table

But the action isn’t limited to the poker tables. Off the felt, players can indulge in a host of entertainment options. The festivities kick off with a Welcome drinks party at the Marriott. And no Unibet Open would be complete without the iconic Unibet Players Party, slated for the Saturday night.

Nataly Sopacuaperu, the Unibet Open’s Head of Events, expressed her excitement, saying, “After a five-year hiatus, returning to Bucharest feels like a grand reunion in a city that’s perfect for both poker and partying.”

Echoing her sentiments, Laura Olteanu, Head of Events for PokerFest Romania, conveyed her enthusiasm about the renewed partnership with Unibet.

An Iconic Venue

The choice of venue adds to the allure. The JW Marriott Bucharest Grand Hotel, a stone’s throw away from the Palace of the Parliament and Bucharest’s famed Old Town, promises to offer participants an immersive experience.

In a world where live poker events are a blend of strategy, skill, and spectacle, the Unibet Open in conjunction with PokerFest Romania is gearing up to deliver an unforgettable experience. Bucharest, get ready!
