Born and raised in this picturesque country, she embodies the quintessential Swiss spirit, cherishing nature, mountains, lakes, and the delightful indulgence of Swiss cheese and chocolate. From thrilling winter activities like skiing, snowboarding, and ice-skating to enchanting summer adventures of hiking and swimming in the crystal-clear lakes, she wholeheartedly embraces the wonders of her homeland.
But there’s more to her story. This Swiss enthusiast also has a passion for music and eagerly attends some of the world’s most renowned music festivals, including the legendary Montreux Jazz Festival. Imbued with the harmonious melodies that resonate through the festival grounds, she finds joy in the rhythm of life.
While poker initially served as a casual pastime, a shift occurred in 2022 when the legal landscape for poker in Switzerland underwent a transformation. Realizing the newfound opportunities, she made a resolute decision to embrace the game more seriously, embarking on a journey to refine her skills and explore the depths of her poker prowess.
Through the merging of her love for nature, her affinity for music, and her commitment to the game, this live poker player embodies the Swiss spirit of precision, determination, and an unwavering pursuit of excellence.
How did you first get introduced to the game of poker?
As a child, we often played the Swiss card game “Jassen” in our family and it always blew my mind when my dad could tell exactly what cards I had in my hand because of his understanding of the game. After my husband told me about poker and thought it was the best hobby for me, I quickly realized that it is a huge part of the game to read your opponents and analyze their behavior, what I totally enjoy.
What drew you to poker and made you want to pursue it as a profession?
The freedom of being my own boss and going beyond my own limits.
Can you share a memorable experience or highlight from your poker career?
I was able to cash my first ever played WSOP event in 2016 with the biggest buy-in during my career so far. This was only possible because I won a tournament at the Golden Nugget a couple days earlier. Hopefully I can cash bigger in my second WSOP event this year.
What are some of your biggest challenges as a poker player?
Managing my poker lifestyle with my family life.
What poker events have you already visited in which countries? Where did you enjoy the most and why?
I have played in so many different countries, while I love to travel.
But I loved the Irish Open in Dublin the most because the vibe there is so unique even if you drop out you feel good. Plus, there is always room for a good old Guiness. 😊
In terms of variety Vegas is of course unbeatable.
Can you share any advice for aspiring poker players looking to improve their game?
Study the game is a very important part but I see so many good players which can’t control themselves and tilt. Controlling your feelings and emotions is also a big part of the game. Therefore, be sure to take care on this part such as balance your life, go out into nature, meditate, bring in the correct attitude and always be focused.
Have you ever experienced a significant bad beat or a tough loss, and how did you bounce back from it?
Yes, far too many 😊.
It is really important to understand that there are things you can’t control, so don’t think about them too much, move on and get back to the tables. Afterwards analyze the hand and may talk to other players.
How do you balance your poker career with your personal life and other commitments?
It is not that easy, but I always try to do my best.
What are your future goals and aspirations as a poker player?
In the short term, I want to play my best poker and get some good results at the WSOP 2023. In long term, I want to grow a little more every day, challenge myself and get some good results.
