On Thursday night, Isaac Haxton emerged victorious in Event #16: $25,000 High Roller at the World Series of Poker (WSOP), claiming his first-ever gold bracelet along with an incredible prize of $1,698,215. Haxton outlasted a field of 301 entries, including Ryan O’Donnell in the final showdown, to claim the coveted jewel of the Poker World Cup.
The event broke the record for the largest $25,000 buy-in tournament in WSOP history, and following his win, Haxton expressed his honor at the victory. “I’ve been second and third many times to achieve my biggest prizes, so it’s good to finally win. A field of three hundred players in a $25K event, yeah, I think it’s gotta be up there as one of my biggest accomplishments.”
While the pro had been forced to settle for numerous second and third-place finishes in the past, 2023 has been the complete opposite, as Haxton has already achieved six victories this year, amassing over $7,000,000 in winnings. In recent years, many have spoken about the “Year of Fedor Holz” or the “Year of Justin Bonomo,” but Haxton is on track to potentially have one of the best years ever recorded in poker history.

With his close friend Bonomo cheering him on and by his side during the post-game interview, Haxton was asked about his future goals and whether he has any aspirations to pursue the #1 spot on the All-Time Money List in poker.
“No, not really,” Haxton said (laughing). “I don’t look at those things. I just enjoy playing poker and making money from it.”
With this victory, Haxton has increased his live poker tournament earnings to $37,509,332, according to The Hendon Mob, and now occupies the 12th position on the All-Time Money List. This was the third-largest prize in the American pro’s career.
