How did it feel when you realized you had won the Battle of Malta 2023 Autumn Edition?
So how I’m feeling? It’s amazing, BOM is my biggest score in my career and I’m feeling really grateful for this huge deeprun 🙂 I had a very good run from my second bullet in the Day 1C, I went deepstack and from the first day I always had a big stack, I had the possibility to wait for the right spots without any pressure. Of course it’s hard to grind all these days straight, but it’s work so you have to do it. I remember that I slept really bad the night before the final table but it’s normal, a lot of emotions were involved 😇
How did you prepare mentally and strategically for the Battle of Malta?
I prepared the Battle and every tournaments that I play with a lot of studies with my coaching project @smashthegame.
How do you balance the demands of professional poker with your personal life and relationships?
It’s hard to balance work and relationship and family but I’m trying to do my best. Me and my wife had our son Leonardo is just 3 month yo, so it’s hard to balance everything at the moment but we are doing it 🥰
Can you share a little about your early days in poker? What drew you to the game?
I’ve been playing poker since I was 18 yo, I first stated with my schoolmates and then I decided to start to study on my own because my dream was to became a professional poker player and I made it🤩
Do you have a favorite hand or a lucky charm that you felt played a role in your success?
My favourite hand is pocket 8s and I get it 3 times on the FT, i lost a big flip but then I double up 😍
What advice would you give to someone aiming to win a major poker tournament like the Battle of Malta?
If you are aiming to win a tournament like the Battle of Malta first you have to understand that even if you play it every year, you don’t have many chances to win it because there is an infinite variance involved but you can keep grinding, studying and working on your game and every sacrifice will give you something back for sure 🤩
What’s next for you in the world of poker after this win?
I don’t have any particular next stops, I want to keep grinding my schedule, study more and more and improve my game. I believe that “the best is yet to come”.
