Hello everyone, I’d like to introduce you to Christian Hospina (Instagram, Twitter), a skilled poker player from Panama. Christian has been playing poker for many years and has won numerous tournaments in Panama and worldwide. He’s known for his strategic thinking, ability to read his opponents, and calm demeanor at the table. We’re lucky to have him here with us today to share his expertise and insights on live poker.
How did you get started playing poker?
My grandma liked playing card games with me when I was a kid. I remember seeing Phil Ivey on the TV, and I liked it. I decided that I want to do that, too, one day! Jeje, I started playing play money over Zynga poker on Facebook in high school.
What’s your biggest win in your live poker career?
In 2021 in the CLSOP Punta Cana, I finished in Second Place for 69K.
How often do you go to live poker events?
Like 1/2 times a year, but now, with so many series and sats online, I will travel 3/4 times a year.

How does your family feel about you playing poker? Has this attitude changed over time?
Yeah, at first, they didn’t want to know anything about poker, but now they understand poker a lot more and see how good I’m doing, so they are pretty happy for me.
Do you have a favorite hand?
I really like AsKs. I feel that it wins more flips against QQ and JJ and makes more flush than the other suited hands.
How do you manage your emotions at the table, both when winning and losing?
I am trying to be pretty neutral either way. Just focus on how I played the hand
What is the most memorable hand you’ve ever played?
Probably, it was the final hand of my first live tournament win! I jammed 22 for like 20bbs bb call me with KJs, and thankfully I took all the chips and the trophy.
How often do you bluff, and how do you choose the right time to white
It depends on the opponent and the stage of the tourney.
Do you play online poker?
Yes, I do. I make a living playing online poker. I started playing online in 2012 and professionally in 2013, grinding the SNG 180 in Pokerstars. Then I started playing mtts.
What are your goals for your poker career in the future?
Keep getting better and making good results online and live!

In conclusion, it was a pleasure speaking with Christian Hospina and learning more about his experience in the world of poker. We wish him all the best in his future endeavors and look forward to seeing him at the tables in the future. Thank you for taking the time to speak with us, Christian.
